Know how to write so users can "know how".

Introduction to Technical Writing

Technical writing is a type of writing that explains complex, technical and specialized information in easily digested bits to people who may or may not have experience with the information. Examples of technical writing include user manuals and documentation of processes/features by technical personnels such as software or mechanical engineers, etc. To be a good technical writer, one must;

  • know and understand his/her audience.
  • be an avid researcher, know how to gather information from a good number of sources.
  • use an active voice/tone so readers can find the information trustworthy.

I am enrolled in the cloud-engineering track of the ADA program, learning how to become a good technical writer. I hope to improve this skill with time😊. Three other career paths in tech include mobile app developer, data analyst and software developer.
